If endurance miles and sea air sound like a good combination, sign up for the Pearson 150 on 20th May. Back by popular demand after the success of the last two years' events, we promise a great sportive to kick start your summer 2012.

Two distances, 150km or 75km equal a great day in the saddle, beautiful scenery, and a challenge for all levels of rider in aid of The Royal Marsden Hospital. Up to 1000 entries available.

The Routes: The Pearson 150 (150km) route will take you south through the lanes of Surrey and Sussex, taking in the climbs of the North and South downs, including the iconic Ditchling Beacon, followed by a swift descent to the half way marker at Brighton. There you can take in the sea air and refuel.

The second half of the route will take you north again, riding through exquisite undulating scenery to the finish. Timing chips will be clocked in and results instantly available.

You will need good legs to do this one - 150km is no mean feat. However, a shorter route - The Challenge Route -  is available...

Devil's Dyke on the stunning South Downs

The Challenge route is 75km through leafy lanes in Surrey, taking in some easier ascents of the north downs. The halfway mark will be just on the borders of Sussex, where the ride turns for home via a refuelling point and more beautiful lanes en route. Again, at the finish, timing chips will be clocked in and results available.

Epsom Racecourse, on the way back to HQ

Both routes are excellently signposted by the acclaimed PUNCHEUR team, and a broom wagon is on hand for any bike failures that force you to stop riding. The 150 has two well-stocked feedstations, and the Challenge Route has one. Massage and more refreshments are available back at HQ to round off an epic day.

Why ride or sponsor a rider for this event? Apart from a great day of riding, your participation could make the 2012 event an even bigger fund raiser than the last two years.

The Royal Marsden Cancer Campaign raises money to help the hospital stay at the leading edge of cancer treatment, research and care. It is a centre of excellence for cancer sufferers, helping people of all ages from all over the country. Cancer touches the lives of so many people and we at Pearsons owe a great debt to the Marsden, for the treatment that Roger Pearson (4th generation of Pearson to run the business) received following diagnosis and in his final days battling this disease. Not only will you enjoy a fantastic day out, but you will also be raising money for this cause through your entry.
