The event is scheduled to take place around the 3-4th August 2013; these dates are provisional for this inaugural edition. This event will continue on from the success of the Olympic Test Event and Olympic Road Race, which drew hundreds of thousands of people to the roadsides to spectate.
The organisers of the Tour Of Britain SweetSpot will work in conjunction with the London Marathon to make this event happen. Stratford’s Olympic Park will play host to a family fun ride on the Saturday [3rd August] and will be the start point of an elite criterium, cyclosportive and professional road race the day after [4th August].

The Olympic Road Race In Richmond Park
The family fun ride is expected to be one of the largest of its kind with up to 70,000 people
The sportive route will match that of the road race and head into central London, before heading towards Surrey, similar to the successful Olympic Road Race route with the finish on the Mall near Buckingham Palace. There is allowance for up to 20,000 participants.
The criterium race will take place around the closed roads of St James’ Park. It is predicted 200,000 visitors will be attracted from outside the capital, leading to a major boost in cycling numbers and generate tens of millions of pounds of economic benfit.
One of the aims is for RideLondon to be the largest charity fund-raising cycle event in the world
