In 2014, the Tour de France is coming to the UK and Stage 3 runs through Essex and finishes in London. There's now an opportunity to ride some of the best parts of the route in a fully supported sportive delivered by Kilo To Go.
It's an opportunity to tackle the same roads that the pros will be riding four weeks later. At the same time, you'll be able to raise vital funds for national charity, Caudwell Children - the official Kilo To Go charity partner.
Starting out from Ongar, Essex just a few miles from the official Stage 3 route, riders can choose from route options of 100, 60 and 39 miles. Every mile of each of the 3 routes is in the large county of Essex. Most of our routes take advantage of this lovely countryside, although you'll steal the occasional glance to Canary Wharf, The Shard and the city of London.
Having delivered sportives since 2006, you're in good hands. Kilo To Go organise events such as the massive season opening Wiggle Cheshire Cat, the challenging Wiggle Tour of the Peak and the marathon Wiggle Flatout in Fens.
Around half of the mileage on each of the 3 route options uses the same roads as the 2014 Tour de France Stage 3. We've used some of these very roads before, in previous sportives, and indeed last year's Explorer.
Founded in 2000, Caudwell Children has helped thousands of disabled children with over 500 different medical conditions, providing practical and emotional support to families who can't get the help they need anywhere else. By supporting Caudwell Children you will be directly changing disabled children's lives.
Thanks to a generous benefactor, who donates the cost of the charity's annual administration and management overheads, Caudwell Children can boast that 100% of all direct donations go to help individual children. Passionate about being there when families need us most, Caudwell Children provide a lifeline of support from birth or diagnosis through to adulthood. Without any statutory funding, the charity relies solely on the generosity of our supporters - so to make a real difference today, please sign up to fundraise for Caudwell Children on your next ride.

Kilo To Go always go an extra mile or two when organising a sportive. For starters, they provide participants with a comprehensive rider pack in advance of the event, as well as quick and simple online registration - after all, the rides themselves are challenging enough. This means that on the day of the event all you need to do is just turn up and ride.
