Jonathan Tiernan-Locke – the first British rider to win the Tour of Britain in 19 years – will join the Cyclosport Industry Ride and Lunch
The third annual Cyclosport Industry Ride & Lunch will take place on Saturday 13th October 2012 in London. Joining the event will be professional cyclists and legends, including Tour of Britain winner Jonathan Tiernan-Locke, Triple Crown winner Stephen Roche, Daniel Lloyd, Brian Smith, Matt Stephens, Yanto Barker and Roger Hammond.
150 of the industry’s event organisers, sponsors, media and influencers will be in attendance providing a great platform to catch up with colleagues, reflect on 2012 – one of the most exciting years in recent cycling history - and discuss the future and development of the cycling events business in a relaxed, informal environment.

This year there are additionally a significant number of private equity players, investment bankers who have invested in the sector and international event organisers. David Bellairs, Director of the Cape Argus Pick n Pay Cycle Tour, the largest timed cycling event in the world, joins this year for the first time.
Since the Cyclosport Industry Ride & Lunch began three years ago, it has tripled in size. This exemplifies the growth in the cyclosportive and cycling sector as a whole.

Damien Duggan, Head of Marketing at Chain Reaction Cycles, says: “The Cyclosport Industry Ride and Lunch is a great opportunity to catch up with friends and colleagues, share news and make plans for the future. The relaxed ride and informal lunch provides some good networking time both in the saddle and out. I’m looking forward to seeing everyone there.”
The day will start with teas and coffees at 9.30am, then a group bike ride at 10.30am, followed by a three course lunch. After lunch there will be a Q&A session with Cyclosport Editor, Adam Tranter. Wattbike will be hosting its Wattbike Challenge; the participant with the Best Average Power over 500 metres will win a prize.
