Entries Now Open For The 2012 Duva International 2 Day Sportive in Majorca.

Wheels in Wheels Events Ltd, organisers of 10 UK sportives including the Forest of Dean Classic and several Majorcan events, are pleased to announce entries are open for the 2012 Duva International Sportive.

Entries are open and places are already being filled for the fifth edition of the Duva International 2 Day Sportive taking place over the weekend of 21 & 22 April 2012 in Port De Pollensa, Majorca.

With a rolling police and motorcycle outrider road closure, timed climbs, well stocked feedstops, mechanical back up, broom wagon, good weather, stunning scenery and challenging routes; the event is establishing itself as a must do event for UK visitors to the Balearic Island. If two days riding is too much you can also just ride one day depending on your level of fitness, mountains or flat, the choice is yours.

Saturday´s 140km mountain challenge route takes in the three of the best climbs on the Island. The first timed climb is the Orient followed by a food stop at the summit and then the switchbacks of the Col De Soller before the next timed section, the 14km Puig Major. Then it’s a quick refreshment stop at Gorge Bleu and a fast descent back to the finish.

Sunday’s 95km route goes out along the coast past Alcudia then swings inland onto the day’s timed climb before dropping back down to Sineu. Here you can try your hand at track cycling with a chance to ride on the outdoor velodrome whilst at the feedstop. The route then follows an undulating course back to the Duva before the rider party and presentations.
