In summary it is an inexpensive, reliable, economical, if slightly yellowing super bright main rear light. I would happily buy another.

With those warm evenings on their way, a two hour training loop can turn into a rather dim affair. We like any light that's durable, won’t hurt the wallet and will help keep us safe. This super bright Cateye TL-LD610 rear light ticks all the boxes.

Having pounded country lanes all winter and plenty of town mileage in between you need something reliable. Lights seem to be a bit hit and miss, some are bright but eat batteries, and some seem perfect but after a couple of months simply stop being sealed from moisture. This Cateye is not a small, being 10cm long, it can be mounted vertically or horizontally, has 5 LEDs and 5 different flash modes, it takes a two AAA batteries and when flashing the battery will last for 60 hours. This equates to roughly 120 commutes for me to the Cyclosport offices and home again.

The light sequences can be moved through with the simple push of the large button; easy enough to push with long finger gloves. The clear lense uses red LEDs to create the red light rather than white LEDs diffusing through a red lense. Each has a small dome to expand the light beam from each bulb, resulting in 80,000 candles worth of light, which is, I'm told, a lot. Even after thousands of miles of use the clear lense has not clouded and needs only an occasional wipe to get rid of the worst winter grime.

The flexifit mount is secured with a simple mechanism which does not loosen or rattle over bumpy roads. I do find however the inside of my leg may catch on it occasionally when it is mounted on the seatpost. The light angle can be adjusted up and down to get the perfect alignment. The light can be released without any fuss.

There are a few negatives with it, the first being the colour, white maybe wasn’t the right choice as it is now turning to more of a yellow colour; but it is also available in black. Furthermore it would be nice if it had an integrated clip on the light so it could be clipped to a rear pocket or satchel if you left the mount on a different bicycle.

In summary it is an inexpensive, reliable, economical if slightly yellowing super bright main rear light. I would happily buy another, in black.
