Asthma UK Beach-to-Beach Bike Ride Hailed a Success

The third edition of the annual Asthma UK Beach-to-Beach Bike Ride, organised by multi-award winning Pennine Events, took place last weekend and was hailed a huge success.

The two-day trip took riders from Bournemouth to Brighton, offering varying terrain and stunning vistas over the countryside and English Channel.

Pennine Events, who are already well known for organising award-winning mass-participation sporting events, such as The Liverpool-Chester-Liverpool Bike Ride and The British Heart Foundation Night Ride, were responsible for all event logistics for the unique two-day cycling event.

Rolling support cars, marshals, mechanics, food stops and a well signed route ensured all the riders arrived safely and on time at the overnight stop on the Sussex border. Pennine Events successfully housed and catered for over 260 participants, before setting off early again the next day, en route to Brighton.

“The weekend was a huge success,” said Nick Abbott, Project Manager at Pennine Events. “We have spent a lot of time ensuring this event was going to run smoothly as there was so much to organise from the route itself, right through to arranging accommodation and transport for all the riders. Fortunately we are not new to this and we have had plenty of experience organising complex and unusual events.”
Pennine Events have already successfully delivered a diverse range of events this year, including, the Graham Liver’s Sport Relief Challenge, the Scottish Bike Show Sportive and the Pendle Business Awards.

Managing Director, Mark Sandamas, is happy how 2012 is fairing: “It’s been a busy couple of months for us and it’s only getting busier! We’ve already organised many events and challenges this year and it will continue at this pace throughout the year with plenty of other big and diverse ones such as the inaugural London to Brighton Night Ride and Great Manchester Cycle.”
