THE RUTLAND CiCLE TOUR. Saturday 22nd April 2017
Join over 1200 riders on Saturday 22nd April 2017 at the Rutland CiCLE Tour. Choose from four routes on Rutland's original, biggest and best sportive, all starting at Giant Store Rutland on the picturesque south shore of Rutland Water.
There is something for riders of all levels of fitness and experience. The 57 mile route is ideal for those new to cycling and cyclo-sportives, but still hard enough to provide a personal challenge. For completely new riders there is now a 21 mile option which is less hilly than the other routes. The toughest challenges come from 104 mile and the 78 mile options, which features the most picturesque lanes and villages the area has to offer. Taking in not only Rutland but neighbouring Lincolnshire, Leicestershire and Northamptonshire, the long route has almost 5000 feet of climbing and includes views of Rutland Water, the Vale of Belvoir, Eyebrook Reservoir and the impressive Harringworth Viaduct.
The next day sees the International CiCLE Classic take to the roads. Watch some of the top professional riders tackle some of the toughest roads in the area. Entrants will be able to take advantage of several offers from our sponsors and supporters, Dare 2b and Giant Store Rutland.

Enter now and give yourself a reason to keep in shape over the winter. When the event comes around all you have to think about is turning over the pedals and putting the training you've done into practice. Our experienced and friendly team will deliver a safe and well supported ride for you, your friends and family. Choose from four routes that start and finish in Lincoln - 102, 78, 60, or 33 miles - through quiet picturesque lanes in the Lincolnshire Wolds. The route options mean there is something for everyone, with the 102 mile route providing the toughest challenge, with 4,240 feet (1305 m) of ascent. All routes finish with the 12% cobbled climb of Michaelgate in the heart of historic Lincoln, giving you the chance to experience the sort of challenge faced by Elite riders the following day. The 60 mile route takes in less of the Wolds and is ideally suited to those setting out in cycling and the world of cyclo-sportives. The 33 mile route is almost completely flat and perfectly suited to new riders, although it still includes the Michaelgate climb.
All routes except the shortest have feedstations.
The icing on the cake for your day out is the Michaelgate climb. The Lincoln Grand Prix Sportive is one of the few sportives in the UK that attracts a crowd to cheer you on the climb of Michaelgate to the finish at the bottom of historic Lincoln Cathedral. The cathedral is visible from several points on the route as far as 30 miles away.
