Wiggle Devils Punch Sportive - November 4th
by Henry Peacock
Wiggle Devils Punch Sportive will take place on the 4th November, it takes place after the UK sportive season has pulled down the shutters and is there to offer up some great riding around the North and South Downs.
The Wiggle Devils Punch Sportive did well in 2011 its first year, it sold out and is now back to be bigger and better than before. The event starts close to the easy to access Devils Punch Bowl and from which the sportive gets its name. The course weaves through the scenic roads between the North and South Downs, looping around the stunning Devils Punch Bowl, before heading up into the challenging North Downs.
This ride has been designed to be slightly shorter than the normal sportives to reflect the time of year. However it is still a challenge, as the course includes a couple of awesome hills to get the legs pumping and amazing descents to get the heart racing. Taking in the best of the varied landscape of Hampshire and Surrey. Although there are a couple of mean hills, everything is achievable. A great end of season sportive, on very quite roads, within a stunning area.
The two distances on offer of 75 and 50 miles should offer a good distance for the tme of year, right at the end of the sportive season.
Book early and receive a maxifuel race pack worth over £10, if you sign up by 9th September. All the normal features of a UK Cycling Event are on offer.
