The Columbia Grape Escape
01/03/2012 - Boland - MTB
Rating:
After a successful launch in 2011, the Columbia Grape Escape will return in 2012 to kick off the Cape Argus Pick n Pay Lifecycle Week.
The race is held over three days and leads amateur and professional mountain bikers through over 200km of some of the most spectacular terrain in the Boland – including over 4 000m of climbing.
The next race will take place between Thursday, 1 March and Saturday, 3 March 2012.
Entry Format
Riders may enter as a solo entrant or as a two-rider team in one of three categories – Men’s, Ladies and Mixed.
Riders must be at least 18 years old on Race Day.
Prize money will be awarded for overall results at the end of the event. While solo winners will also receive prize money, the emphasis will be on the team entries.
Event Format
The Columbia Grape Escape is not a full service race, but the start and finish of each race is within reasonable driving distance from Cape Town and surrounds and is easily accessible.
We will also provide breakfast snacks and a full post-race meal, as well as one food stop per stage to ensure the comfort of all our participants.
In addition, refreshment stations will be fully stocked with a mix of water, Powerade and Coke.
