Although not on closed roads may as well have been. Area of outstanding natural beauty. Hilly course to test the legs but not too taxing. Made all the more amazing by the volunteers who run the event.

Very smooth organisation on the day. Good marshalling at all junctions and tight turns. Good route with mostly quiet roards. Excellent home baking and very friendly support team.

Beautiful backdrop at the castle, civilised non timed lunch break with great food, great cycling area, all entry fee/donations go to charity and nice friendly feel. Not one of the toughest just one of the best.

Impressed by route, most of which was new to me...will be back next year!

Superbly organised, a wonderful event - especially the amazing volunteers who were all so cheerful, supportive and thoughtful (I could have kissed the lady who so kindly held my bike while I collected some food at the feed station!). The route was awesome (although roads a little rough).
Would have loved to be able to get a cup of tea - will bring a flask next time!

Possibly the best year yet (I've been to 7 of the Challenges).
Weather was perfect - cool with little wind. Organisation was the best yet with really friendly and helpful volunteers. The route was light on traffic and absolutely stunning to see. ....And the cake and sandwiches?...Brilliant!

This is the second time I have ridden this event, completing the longer route. For me, a major point of this sportive is that the donation made goes in full to the charity, Tearfund. The organisation is first class, the food excellent and the route has it all. The volunteers are all extremely friendly and helpful. A great day out.

Great event. Thanks for running it so well. I would be happy to pay for a cup of tea at the end if someone wanted to charge for it.

for some reason my first attempt at this review ended up in last years section

The Drumlanrig Challengecertainlychallenged me. The morning section is taxing enough but the afternoon is not for the faint hearted. However, it was satisfying - in a strange kind of way and I'm already thinking about what I need to do to finish it in a more respectable time next year! Speciall thanks must go to Dave, Ralph and their team. of volunteers

We had such a great time. It was hard but we are very chuffed to have finished. Its my first sportive so I don't feel qualified to judge anything less than 100%. Would have killed for a cup of something hot and caffeinated(tea/coffee) at lunch time. I understand there was some issue with a tea van. Also could we not do the second loop the other way round to avoid the headwind Elvanfoot to the top of Dalveen Pass? Or would that make it too easy??!! Awesome event!!

Great Route and well organised, the entry process is a little dated and an online registration would be a big improvment.
