Guest pick ups: will take place on Thursday afternoon / evening from Lancaster train station or alternatively guests can arrive by car at our designated hotel in the Morecambe area (TBD). Guests will be able to leave their cars at the hotel for the duration of the trip.

Route:

Day 1: Morecambe to Ripon:

We set off from the West coast on Good Friday and head past the famous 3 Peaks in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales. We soon enter the market town of Settle and the first real test of the day which is the climb of Scosthrop Scar leading out of the town. We descend past the fabulous Malham Cove and through Grassington and climb of Fancarl. The last 15 miles takes us down the hair-raising descent of Greenhow Hill, into Pateley Bridge and then after climbing out of the town, the final 10 miles are generally down hill to our Day 1 night stop at the market town of Ripon.

Approximate distance - 65 miles.

Day 2: Ripon to Bridlington:

After a “lumpy” first day, we have a relatively easy second day, flat to begin with before encountering the 'undulations' of the Yorkshire Wolds........

The route takes us through Boroughbridge and through the Vale of York to the north of York City and onto the lanes of the Yorkshire Wolds, as we ride through the picturesque villages of Leavening, Thixendale and Sledmere into East Yorkshire before eventually arriving at the small resort of Bridlington on the Yorkshire coast.

Approximate distance - 60 miles.

Day 3: Ripon to Leyburn:

Our third day and we head west back into North Yorkshire, through Malton and the Howardian Hills. After riding through the charming villages of Yearsley and Coxwold, we enter the Vale of York and head towards the Yorkshire Dales, sitting on the western horizon. We pass through the town of Masham and then take the quiet roads, alongside the river Ure up to our third night stop near Leyburn. The longest day in terms of distance but not too hilly!

Approximate distance - 80 miles.

Day 4: Leyburn to Morecambe:

The final day and we leave Leyburn behind and head straight into Wensleydale to England's highest market town of Hawes. We cross into Cumbria at Garsdale and then tackle the major climb of the day - Garsdale Head before dropping down into Dentdale and then climb out through the valley of Barbondale. After a long descent to Kirby Lonsdale we leave the Pennines and the last miles of the trip take us through the Lune Valley to Lancaster and back to the seaside and our hotel in Morecambe.

Approximate distance - 70 miles.
