As a compliment to the inaugural Longleg sportive 2011, the 2012 will repeat all that was good and omit all that was bad - not that there was much!
The following courses will be on offer: the short (72k) and the medium (113k) - both follow the same route, including the short section of gravel - a salute to the Strada Bianca! Then it's off down to the borderlands of Surrey and Sussex and a cheeky warm up climb before heading North towards the high Greensand Ridge. More commonly known as The Surrey Hills, you'll see the glimpses of the climbing to be done long before you reach them, so the mental torture will start early!
Before the climbing starts make sure to refuel at the halfway mark with Aunt Debbie's famous homemade cakes and energy drink or water.
As it's a bank holiday weekend, recommended accomodation and places to drink and eat are listed below. You could also bring your mountain bike for the next day and sample some of the best riding in the south east...the event organiser will almost certainly be out so why not join him?
