2012 SPRING TRAINING CAMP
APR 9-13th - Arnside, Lancashire
Camp starts Monday afternoon and finishes Friday afternoon
Join the experienced Mercury team, for their fourth annual training camp held in the beautiful and stunning south Lake District for 3-5 days of superb preparatory training and learn under expert tutors, how to tackle its most famous mountain passes including Hardknott and Wrynose passes from both sides plus the `Struggle`and numerous other 30% climbs, many little known.
The camp is designed to help endurance athletes of all disciplines and abilities to prepare scientifically for the 2012 season. The coaching team will teach you how to identify your strengths and weaknesses, how to develop a periodization plan and then how to improve the results of each phase of your training.
To build on the success of previous years, the spring prep-camp will now include a module designed to help athletes acquire leading edge advice on how to prepare, train and compete across the full spectrum of events and distances that includes, middle and long distance events, triathlons and duathlons.

Following feedback from previous and prospective clients and with the current economic climate in mind, we now offer a huge range of flexible packages for our Spring Training Camp in April 2012.We believe this offers "the best value for money" in regards to our performance based training camp - on the market. This gives endurance athletes the opportunity to review their current fitness levels with a fully qualified coach and find a way forward to improve their performance. Whilst at the same time, getting in some great training miles and experiencing some of the legendary climbs and classic cycling routes in the Lake District. If you just want to ride these fabulous routes with our daily guided rides, then there are low cost options available too. All guided rides have different groups to cater for all abilities.

Knowledge is Power
Each athlete will be offered the chance to go through a series of personal physical and bio-mechanical tests that will set an individual benchmark for future development. The tests will help each athlete better understand baseline abilities and then use this information, along with past data, to dramatically improve on previous performances.
We also hope to run through some of the latest cycling improvement techniques such as EPOC and its effect on your training to try to find the `holy grail` for athletes, the near perfect optimum training plan, personalized for you.
If you wish, you will be able to consult with Terry - pre camp, and start early on finding your own personal weaknesses and strengths and by the time you arrive at the camp be operating at a much higher performance level.
We will also be able to offer athletes who attend the chance to talk to experts on sports nutrition and bio mechanics and again start to understand the effects these items i.e >>>> can have on your performance. We will also be able to offer you a gas analysis test to establish your own VO2 max and AT levels. We will cover some of the mysteries of using power tools and the `magic` incredient`s called WKO software and ATP (Annual Training Planning) mind blowing tools at reasonable cost and one of the UK guru`s on hand to ask questions to.
So don't buy another bike or super wheels until you have consulted with us first to see if there is more cost effective and productive methods available.

During the 3-5 days you`ll experience an excellent blend of seminars covering many different cycle related subjects e.g power, GPS, nutrition, metabolic typing, clothing ,power to weight analysis etc etc and take part in some superb cycle rides in magnificent scenery with riders who have similar abilities guided by local experts, go through may different testing protocols and planning systems and then have dinner with other athletes and coaches, followed by question and answer sessions.
