Ride the beautiful countryside of Dumfries and Galloway on roads with little traffic compared to most of the UK, and help raise money for local good causes. Choice of 24km, 80km or 120km routes (15, 50 or 75 miles).
The 24km route is a simple loop with one short steep climb followed by a long down hill with lovely views of the Solway ahead.
The 80 and 120km routes head together up the valley of the River Urr, then over to Castle Douglas. Then through Red Kite country along the shore of Loch Ken to New Galloway. The 120km route heads to Cairsphairn while the 80 km route crosses the Ken Bridge and climbs past Balmaclellan. Part way up the hill the 120km route re-joins and both head for Corsock, then Crocketford, Milton, Haugh of Urr and back to Dalbeattie for well earned sandwiches and Scottish home baking.
