Follwoing the success of the first Lands End 100 in 2011 we are now planning next year's event. The Lands End 100 cyclosportive takes place on 14 October 2012. The event is being managed and run by Carrick Leisure in partnership with One and All Cycling Club. There will be three route options this year: 100 mile route The riders will ride the coast road around West Cornwall taking in the most Westerly point (Lands End) and Southerly point (Lizard Peninsula) in the British Isles, before heading back to the North coast between Portreath and Hayle and return through Carbis Bay to St Ives. 100 km route This is a similar route to above. It will follow the coast road to Lands End and part the way to Lizard Point, at which point it will split away from the 100 mile route and will cut across country to join the North coast between Portreath and Hayle and then join the 100 mile route again and return through Carbis Bay to St Ives. 65 km route This starts the same as the 100km route following the coast road to Lands End then in to Penzance. From Penzance this route will split from the other two and follow the road through Gulval and in to Canonstown and joining the same road you cycled out on to return to St Ives Leisure Centre. Details By directing riders around the coast of West Cornwall and therefore taking in the most Westerly and Southerly points in the British Isles it is hoped that the route will form the basis of a highly popular sportive. The event will start and finish at St Ives Leisure Centre which will be used as event headquarters and has changing, showering, toilet and locker facilities on site that riders may use. There will be sufficient parking at the event HQ and nearby for the maximum number of riders. This event is supported and sponsored by: Cycle Logic Giant USN British Cycling One And All Cycling Club
