Frequently asked questions:

Will I get left behind?

Of course not, we will be a team out there! Your group will be made up of riders of similar ability and our on the ride guide will ensure a good pacing strategy.  There may be times where the group is climbing and you can go at your own pace but our guide will ensure that everyone reaches a suitable location to regroup.

Do I have to bring my own bike?

It is recommended that you bring your own Road Bike that you are used to and are comfortable riding.  However, if this is not possible we can arrange bike hire for you at an additional charge available upon request.

What if I am travelling from further afield?

If you are travelling from further afield, Glasgow and Edinburgh airports are recommended as we are able to arrange 3-5 star accommodation and transfers (prices available upon request) or if you would prefer to meet us at Inverness, please let us know.

How do I know if my bike is up to the challenge?

You should ensure that your bike is in good working order and a service by a reputable bike shop is therefore advised before the trip.  We also recommend starting the challenge with new brake pads and new tyres.  We are based in Central Scotland and a lot of our clients have used Pedal Power Cycles in West Calder- Jonny and the team always do an amazing job.

 What insurance I need?

It is essential that you arrange adequate holiday insurance to cover against illness, personal accident, loss of belongings and cancellation should you have to cancel after your final payment has been made.

What do I need to bring?

Once booking is confirmed, a full kit list and itinerary will be sent to you.

We will be stopping at cafes along the way where you can enjoy a coffee or snack at your own expense if you wish. However, cafes will be limited in certain areas of the trip.  You should therefore ensure sufficient fuel for on the bike but remember, there is a following support vehicle so no more filled pockets or heavy pannier bags.

Is fuel on the bike provided?

Due to individual rider preferences, we recommend that you bring your usual on the bike supplements.  For example, energy bars, gels, carbohydrate drink, electrolyte drink etc.
