Plenty of parking, well marshalled. Easy an quick sign-in in spacious surroundings. Coffee facilities.....essential.
The timing on the helmet, as with many other sportives, seems to work very well and with minimal fuss. Those manning the base and feed stations were friendly and helpful (thanks).
The course was in equal measure scenic and quiet in the main. I agree re. the Wye valley early on...spectacular, especially in the sunshine. The course represented a real challenge with some head down slogs up long hills - which does mean downhills too. Generally road surfaces were OK but there were some sections that were a bit ropey and one section in particular seemed to lead to a number of riders getting better acquainted with the puncture pixies.
Overall a beautiful route and challenging sportive, well organised and friendly. I would certainly recommend this sportive to others and plan to return.

I liked the friendly briefing and reminder that this wasn't TDF so 'no litter' and be mindful of single file where necessary. Pity not everyone listened!
The roads were decent and course was a real saw tooth of a challenge and with some notable testers such as the climb back out of Monmouth. Speaking of Monmouth, as a busy town centre more prominent and advance signage would be an improvement. Generally speaking signage was good but there were a few junctions where the direction was a bit ambiguous and the proof of that was seeing riders overshooting a junction and then doing a U-turn.
Feed stations had good facilities, with plentiful supplies and a warm welcome. The second could've been closer to the first but the major criticism was the location of the first being so close to a busy crossroads despite a steward presence. Riders intent on their fig roll and crossing the junction got a bit messy so frankly, the steward could've been more keen and better control of the junction was called for.
The weather was glorious, stunning views all round and to finish such a tough route was a real buzz.
I will return for two reasons (1) that run into Tintern was classy and pure TDF (2) the tough challenge and variety of the route.

This was a brilliant ride. These series are getting better and better. 2 bits i didn't like, a marshall at the first feed station was overly keen. Cars behind me should be taking notice of me i may know they are there but don't tell me to move over to my left. i am part of the traffic.
Secondly going through Monmouth natuarally we would encounter traffic but too many traffic lights!
Gripes over, stunning route on a sunny day. Sadly had to make use of the mechanics as i had 3 punctures but they were brilliant. Quite a few people had punctures too. Signage brilliant and nice goody bag to finish as well as a bottle with High5 gels at the start. Racecourse great start venue
I hope the rider at the start who crashed and in hospital is ok!
Hope to comeback to this one as long as it is not raining!
Thanks to all involved great job!
