Based on the success of our inuagural event in 2011 the Wheel Heroes ride will be forming the backbone of two day Stratford Cycling Festival 26/27th May 2012. Bring the family and enjoy a stack of family cycling fun!. New for 2012 - British Cycling Event Entry and Insurance, nutrition on all feed stations, new bigger, wind resistant signage,10 mile and 25 mile Wheel Heroes “Lite” rides, Free BBQ for finishers, massage service, Hot and cold drinks, sports nutrition on all 4 feed stops – all day! NO CHARITY FUNDRAISING REQUIREMENT. *Wheel Heroes entry also guarantees complimentry entrance to all the feature events of the Cycling Festival on 26th and 27th May. Full details of the festival will follow soon. Our routes are designed to offer a challenging but acheiveable test for riders of all abilities. Experienced cyclists will find the 100 mile and 100k have a bit of everything, the perfect basis for longer more challenging riding in the summer months. A great test of fitness for anyone doing the Etape, Marmotte, Dragon ride and so on. The lite routes offer less challenging terrain and both the 10 mile the 25 mile courses being perfect for families and junior riders (under 16′s must be accompanied by an adult) . The two superb cyclosportive courses over 100 miles or 100k through the heart of the Cotswolds. Starting and finishing from Stratford Racecourse the rides head south via quiet country lanes before reaching the climb up Stanway where the ride splits. The 100k heads up and over the highest point of the Cotswolds over Snowshill and Broadway Tower, the hundred mile ride continues on to Stow on the Wold before heading back north towards Stratford. The course will be fully marked with feed a stations, timing and mechanical support and Insurance all included for both rides. The event is organised by and is for the sole benefit of Cyclists Fighting Cancer a charity that provides bikes, trikes and tandems for children affected by cancer to help with their recovery and rehabilitation. There is no minimum fundraising requirement.
