You've heard of the saying you can't make an omlette without breaking eggs? - well you just can't create a picturesque bike ride in the Peak District, taking in some of the country's toughest cycling climbs and favourite beauty spots, without creating an awesome cycling challenge! That's the essence of Wiggle Tour of the Peak. It'll take your breath away in more than one sense. We limit this ride to 1,000 places and each year it fills to capacity. For 2012 some things are a little different; we've a new springtime slot replacing the reds and golds of autumn. There's an inviting new route option as well for those who are a little more cautious with their hilly sportives. What hasn't changed is the fact that when you complete Wiggle Tour of the Peak you will have taken on a seriously challenging bike ride in some of Britain's most beautiful moorland countryside.
Why you must ride 'Tour of the Peak'! - The Peak District National Park is Britain's most popular National Park, and so popular with thrill-seekers from all disciplines including cycling. There are plenty of organised bike rides in these parts but, filling up with as many as 1,000 riders each year, none are as popular as Wiggle Tour of the Peak. That's partly because it's the only sportive which includes all 3 of the Peak District's trophy climbs - in fact 3 of Britain's most iconic climbs bar none - Cat and Fiddle, Winnats Pass and Holme Moss. For the 3rd year running, we're delighted to welcome Wiggle as our primary partner again - the UK's official number 1 online bike retailer. By riding Wiggle Tour of the Peak you are also helping us to raise awareness and create sponsorship opportunities for our 2012 charity partner, Cancer Research UK. Cancer Research UK are the World's leading cancer charity.
