Hosted by the local cyclists of Dumfries C.C. this event proved popular in 2009. Following the very positive feedback from participants we are hoping for another successful day in 2010.

There will be 2 timed courses which can be treated as a race, individual challenge or a social day out with fellow cyclists. The short 30Km is designed for newcomers to the sport with the 115km route taking in a beautiful section of the north Solway coast in south west Scotland.
The short route starts in Dumfires to New Abbey, Beeswing, Lochfoot returning to Dumfries. It is not a flat route so will prove challenging but very achievable. It is not suitable for under 12s.

Dumfries Rugby club is also the start for the longer course to New Abbey, Dalbeattie, Kirkcudbright, Dalbeattie, Haugh of Urr back to Dumfries. This route takes in breathtaking scenery as riders climb and descend along the coast down into the picturesque harbour town of Kirkudbright. This route will prove a challenge to all levels of ability. A feed station in Kirkudbright is provided before the final leg of the route back to Dumfries. On completion of both courses there will be free tea/ snacks + certificate. In addition there will a range of spot prizes. For £15 this should prove an exciting day on the bike.

50% of any profits are going to Help for Heroes charity; established to help the injured of war rebuild their lives.
Why not make a weekend of it with some off road cycling at Mabie or Dalbeattie Forest, followed with a meal at one of the many restaurants in the Town which also has enough real ale pubs to keep most satisfied?
