On behalf of Jonnie Woodalls widow, we are sorry to have to  announce that the Gran Fondo Cymru Cyclo Sportive, which was due to take place  on 24th May 09, has had to be cancelled.

After hearing about Jonnies tragic death a few weeks ago,  it had been hoped that an alternative promoter, or organizing team, would have  been able to take over this event from Jonnie - but it has now become clear  that this will not be possible, since Jonnies event promotion budget will  remain in probate as part of his Estate, and with the timing of the funeral,  there is just too much to do in such a short space of time for his family, who’s  wishes are, of course paramount at this sad time.

There are now plans to form an Event Team, made up of  members of Jonnies Cycling Club and Familiy, to take over promotion of this  event for 2010 onwards.

Further announcements will be made as soon as we receive  information.

A private funeral for family and friends will be held in  Shrewsbury on 28th April and there will be a memorial service in  London on 02nd July.
