The UCI MagnifiCat is moving to Newbury Racecourse in 2010. After 4 years at Highclere Castle we will be moving to a superb new HQ location in Newbury that will provide cyclists with greatly improved village HQ facilities to enjoy a great day of cycling. Three main rides at 126 miles, 80 miles and 51 miles distances plus family and childrens events within the racecourse grounds. New website will be available shortly and we will be open for entries Friday 4th December 2009.

New rider facilities at Newbury Racecourse HQ include:

Registration, catering and bar buildings and relax areas inside and outside 

Newbury Racecourse railway station - mainline service from London and the West Country

Showers and changing rooms & toilet blocks

Main rides overview
Three inter-linking courses with food and water stations at regular intervals. All rides depart on same route to Walbury Hill and all rides rejoin for Hannington station to follow same route home.

126mile/ 202km MagnifiCat challenge with 2800m ascent

Stage 1: Newbury Racecourse to Sparsholt 62km 900m ascent - Triple climb combination of Walbury Hill (20%), Linkenholt Hill (10%) and Conholt Hill (14%); 4.5 mile glide descent to Weyhill and continue to Stockbridge. Just Stockbridge Down (8%) and rolling wolds to Sparsholt  

Stage 2: Sparsholt to Four Marks 67km with 1100m ascent - Mega South Downs! Blackdown, Preshaw Down, Wheely Down, Old Winchester Hill and Stoner Hill; gently rising to new control at Four Marks Village Hall.

Stage 3: Four Marks to Newbury Racecourse 73km with 800m ascent - New classic rolling section which includes Lasham, Ellisfield, Farleigh Wallop and Hannington climbs. Great descent to Kingsclere but beware the wall at Ashford Hill! Continue to Brimpton and follow Greenham Common back to Newbury Racecourse. 

80mile / 127km Inter80Cat with 1750m ascent

Stage 1: Newbury Racecourse to Sparsholt 62km 900m ascent - Triple climb combination of Walbury Hill (20%), Linkenholt Hill (10%) and Conholt Hill (14%); 4.5 mile glide descent to Weyhill and continue to Stockbridge. Just Stockbridge Down (8%) and rolling wolds to Sparsholt

Stage2: Sparsholt to Newbury Racecourse 65km 850km ascent  - Steady cycling to Kingsworthy. New testing section which links into Hunton Down climb and follows classic rolling countryside to Overton. Steady climb to Hannington, great descent to Kingsclere but beware the wall at Ashford Hill! Continue to Brimpton and follow Greenham Common back to Newbury Racecourse.

51mile / 82km CommuniCat with 900m ascent

Stage 1: Newbury Racecourse to Newbury Racecourse - This ride is ideal for cyclists looking for their first sportive, and / or use the ride to raise funds for charity, and /or just want a great ride out in the countryside. Enjoy the challenge of cycling over Walbury Hill; then the route splits!  Discover the pleasure of cycling the beautiful Bourne and Test valley to St Mary Bourne. Continue to meander around Whitchurch to Overton and the gentle climb to Hannington. Great descent to Kingsclere but beware the wall at Ashford Hill! Continue to Brimpton and follow Greenham Common back to Newbury Racecourse.   

1.9mile / 4km KiddiCat within Racecourse Grounds

This is an adult sportive in a small package with electronic timing! Multi-lap lap ride is a combination of tarmac and grass track that follows  racecourse 1mile straight in full view of the impressive grandstands. Perfect ride for children and families. Other activities taking place so dont miss out!
