Coritanian* Crippler
Sunday 21st February, 2010
The Crippler - 80 miles (must be completed within 6hrs 30 mins) starts at 8.30am
The Leg Breaker - 65 miles (must be completed within 5hrs 30mins) starts at 9.00am
The Sore Legs - 50 miles (must be completed within 4hrs 30 mins) starts at 9.30am
See below and our website www.coritaniancrippler.org.uk for further details of each ride.
Times include any time spent at the optional café stop.
The Leg Breaker can be cut short (and thus become the Sore Legs) by cutting out the additional 15 miles and going straight to the café stop halfway round. This option is not available on the Crippler.
Route is all on quiet lanes and you will be surprised at how hilly the route is.
As there is a limit of 200 riders, it is advised that you pre-enter (Sorry, this is the old fashioned way with a cheque in the post) but you may enter on the line:- its only £3 which includes route sheet, certificate, toilets and changing facilities and off road car parking. NOTE - Route markers and sag wagon are NOT supplied at this low price, you are expected to be self reliant.
Under 18’s must be accompanied by parent or have parent’s written consent.
*The Coritani were a tribe of ancient Britons who lived in a hill fort on top of Burrough Hill, one of the highest points on the route.

Postal entries (cheques payable to "Leicestershire Road Club" - we cannot accept "Leicester" Road Club) to be sent to: -
Leicestershire Road Club, c/o 92 Balmoral Road, Mountsorrel, Loughborough, Leics, LE12 7EN
· The rides are open to all competent cyclists and the entry fee is only £3.00
· Entries will be taken on the day, but there is a limit of 200 riders due to concerns re catering and other facilities, so you are advised to pre-enter by post.
· To avoid a wasted journey, you are advised to pre-enter by sending a cheque, payable to the “Leicestershire Road Club” (not "Leicester" Road Club) for £3.00 per rider. Please be sure to specify which ride/distance you are entering.
· To keep costs down, no receipt or postal acknowledgement of your pre-entry will be sent (unless the event is oversubscribed), but we will send an email acknowledgement if you supply an email address with your entry, or if you do not have an email address, give an evening/weekend landline telephone number.
· Sorry, but we cannot accept internet entries. Perhaps next year.
· You will have to sign a disclaimer before your entry is accepted. If you do not agree to the conditions thereon, please do not enter.
· If you are under 18yrs of age on 21/2/10 a Parent’s Consent Form MUST be completed and brought with you to the event. Either ask for one to be emailed to you, or complete one on the day.
· You are given a detailed route sheet (click the links on the appropriate pages of our web site for a copy) with clear instructions that were “written from the saddle”. You are expected to find your own way round and be self reliant.
· The route uses all public roads, and most are fairly quiet country roads away from the vicinity of the HQ.
· No special warning signs have been erected, as those already supplied by the local authorities are perfectly adequate. Please take notice of them and any warnings written on your route sheet. The route avoids, as much as is practical, “dangerous” roads, but you should nevertheless, take care at all times.
