The Dalbeattie Hardrock Challenge is a 26 mile Duathlon which takes place entirely in Dalbeattie Forest. The course consists of a challenging 10 mile run held on rough forest roads and a 16 mile bike section, the majority of which follows the Red Grade Hardrock Trail. The event start, bike change over and finish will be at the Richorn Trailhead Car Park, part of the 7stanes Mountain Bike Project.

We have use of the Forestry Commissions Tackeroo Campsite this weekend and the entire route stays within the confines of the Cannock Chase Forest. Utilising the numerous bridleways that crisscross the area and take in the beautiful forest scenery, this promises to be a great day out in the saddle! Camping (for a minimal fee) is available at this event if you want to make a weekend of it.

There will be three route options this year: 100 mile route The riders will ride the coast road around West Cornwall taking in the most Westerly point (Lands End) and Southerly point (Lizard Peninsula) in the British Isles, before heading back to the North coast between Portreath and Hayle and return through Carbis Bay to St Ives. 100 km route This is a similar route to above.
