12/07/2009, Glanusk Estate, Crickhowell nr Brecon, Powys
From the organisers of the Autumn Epic, and a sell out event in 2008 - the second running of this 100 mile cyclosportive will take in many of the classic climbs of mid Wales, including the infamous Devils Staircase. This event grew out of a thread on Cyclosport, so could be considered the home fixture of the season! It will be a toughie as it takes in plenty of climbing, but we could have made it even harder. Instead, we have as always made rider enjoyment our number one priority - this is one of our favourite parts of the country to ride in and are confident it will become one of yours too.

19/07/2009, Reading
Reading Cycling Club are promoting a Sportive ride through the beautiful Berskhire Downs on July 19th 2009. There are two events: One of 105km and 1700 metres of ascent, and the other of 190km and 2900 metres of ascent. The event is being promoted in the memory of Anthony Maynard, who was killed, while cycling, in a road traffic accident near Henley on Thames in July 2008. Anthony was just 25 when he died, a popular young man, and a keen and talented Sportive rider. This event will be a fitting tribute.
All profit from the event will go to Anthonys favourite charity, WSPA, to the Cyclists Defence Fund and to a memorial fund to support young riders in Reading.
There is an option to make an additional contribution when you enter.

The other significant climbs on this route are the Climb out of Dent into Kingsdale, a nice pull up out of Stainforth to reach Malham Tarn just to warm up for Park Rash. After this things calm down before the steady pull up out of the scenic Castle Bolton, up Arkengarthdale to Tan Hill then over Butter Tubs to finish. What else would you do on a Sunday?
