Jason Kenny OBE has become a favourite household name as a result of his three gold wins at the Rio Olympic velodrome earlier this month. Soon after his return from the successful games, the six-time Olympic champion will be seen on another world-class circuit - this time Brands Hatch - as he takes part in Revolve 24, the 24 hour cycling endurance race in Kent on 10-11 September.
Foyle Cycling Club's annual Inishowen 100 sportive took place on Sunday 21 August with over 350 riders from all over Ireland participating. Riders from Antrim, Armagh, Ballina, Ballyclare, Belfast, Bray, Dublin, Fermanagh, Lisburn, Naas, Omagh and Westport were part of an early start from Derry's Sports Complex, before completing the circuit around Inishowen.
Often featured in Top 5 Late Season sportive lists the Autumn Epic is back to claim its premier spot amongst the increasingly corporate dominated events calendar. Enthusiasts won't let it die and have banded together to run the classic sportive after a one year break.

Sunday 21st August saw cyclists from across the UK saddle up for the hugely popular Tour de Mon. Glorious sunshine, big crowds and breathtaking views greeted the cyclists as they took on one of the three routes, 107 miles (Mawr), 76 miles (Canol) and 42 miles (Bach).
The White Horse Ridge CX Sportive has a new calendar slot for 2016 to take advantage of late summer conditions. The event launched in November in 2015, but moves to a new date on Sept 25th this year, which should mean warmer weather and nice dry trails!.
The Henley Highwayman Sportive on September 17th will run side by side with the return of the Team GB Olympic rowing medalists to the famous regatta town. The Highwayman Sportive starts and finishes in the town's beautiful Market Square, where, after the phenomenal GB success in the Olympic rowing events, the town now plans to celebrate the returning heroes too.
With Team GB cleaning up on the track in Rio, and Chris Froome back in action in The Vuelta a Espana this week, there's no better time to get that itching motivation into full swing by signing up to the Hertfordshire 100.
The Tour of the Potteries sportive on Sunday 4th sponsored by international motorcycle/cycle lubricant manufacturer FUCHS Silkolene, will have one of the biggest names in British motorcycle racing taking part with Shane 'Shakey' Byrne riding.
If there's one climb that stands above all in Colorado it's Mount Evans. Not only is it the highest summit of the Chicago Peaks, in the Front Range of the Rockies, but to top it off it's the highest paved road in north America at a whopping 14,130ft (4,307m) elevation!

The Mayor of London's 2017 Prudential RideLondon festival of cycling will take place over the weekend of 28-30 July 2017 with the 100-mile sportive on Sunday 30 July. The exact routes will be confirmed following the full review of this year's event.

ITP Events have two late summer sportives, one an established Lincoln favourite and one a new event in Rutland for 2016. Le Petit Grand Prix takes place on 4th September 2016 and the Rutland Arriverderci premiers on 2nd October 2016.
