Starting from the TT Grandstand ride 1, 2 or 3 laps of the iconic course including the Mountain Mile past Snaefell (620 meters) with over 800 meters of ascent and descent per lap. The Big Hill 2013. A 1000 yard hill climb, climbing 100 metres over its length on the oldest race track in the world still in use. Usually home to presigious motor racing, this is the first time it has been open for an event like this. Competitors can choose to Cycle or Run or both. Top prize £750 with many other prizes. There will also be other local attractions on the day for the rest of the family. Proceeds raised will go to the Midlands Air Ambulance and Birmingham Childrens Hospital. Taking in the best of the varied landscape of Surrey Hills and North Downs, all 3 courses are based in the heart of this area of outstanding natural beauty. Although this area is known for its hills, everything is rideable if you have a reasonable level of fitness. A great early season tester, on very quite roads, within a stunning area!

The value for money weekend offers a choice of two rides each day heading south over the border into Cumbria and Northumberland on Saturday and on Sunday uses two Scottish routes to the north. 30/09/2012 - OL ISTRIA MTB Tour – Parenzana Cannondale

Classified with medium difficulty, the race is included in the calendar of the World Bicycle Federation (UCI), and considering the fact that there will be assigned world points, it is attended an exciting race and an intense competition. The race is going to take place on September 2012 the 28th, 29th and 30th. The trail will pass through the legendary route of the Parenzana, the former narrow-gauge railway line which deeply penetrates into the Istrian peninsula and from Poreč to Trieste . Hotel company Plava laguna d.d. from Poreč has prepared some special arrangements and affordable prices for all the cyclists.

09/09/2012 - Hill Billy 50 Mile Challenge Ride

The Hill Billy 50 Mile Challenge Ride route has been planned and ridden by the Kidsgrove Wheelers Cycling Club. We have designed it for the cyclist that enjoys the challenge of riding the hills, or better known as Baggin the Cols. The route incorparates Gunn Hill, part of the Tour of Britain, you will be grinding the crank arms up the Dumbers and the infamous Mow Cop Climb. Ever heard of Woodhouse lane! A tough climb to the top of Biddulph Moor. The route has an overall climb of 5700ft with some beautiful views of the Staffordshire Moorlands. When you have clocked 25 miles you will have reached the half way fuelling point, where you can take aboard fuel bars and top your bottles up. The Hill Billy 50 Mile Challenge Ride is being held on Sunday 9th September from 8.00am til 6.00pm. So go on get your Rootin, Tootin bicycles out the garden shed
