08/10/2011 - THE BRIGHTON TO BRIGHTON CYCLOSPORTIVE
This is the ultimate end of season cyclosportive based in the Southeast starting and finishing on Brighton's seafront on the closed road of Madeira Drive. There are four routes to choose from on this cyclosportive which are, THE HEART RIDE ROUTE @ 32 miles, THE TOUR ROUTE @ 57 miles, THE CHALLENGE ROUTE @ 70 miles, THE CLASSIC ROUTE @ 100 miles, The Classic route at 100 miles is demanding route designed to test even the most accomplished Cyclosportive rider. Four Feed stations are positioned on route to help all riders keep their energy levels up. The Classic route should only be considered by those fit enough to be able to ride 100 miles on a course that has over 4880 feet of really testing climbing. The route travels through the heart of the Ashdown Forest and the Weald area of Sussex and Kent. Notable climbs of the area include hills such as Kidds Hill, and the infamous short but steep Cob Lane hill. But that's not all, at the end of the ride things really start to get tough with all routes climbing Ditchling Beacon and then later in Brighton itself the final climbs of Coombe Rd and Bear Road which should be enough hills for most people. Riders finally descend towards Brighton's Seafront to finish on Madeira Drive where all the usual SRS Events hospitality will be in action. The event is raising fund for the Sussex Heart Charity. If there are places left entry will be available on the day priced at £30 We only accept cash on the day.
