Take advantage of Cheshire mild winter climate and ride The Jodrell Bank Cyclosportive; the Cheshire plains are protected in the winter by the Welsh Mountains giving it it's own micro climate. It's well known to cyclist in the North West where they think nothing of jumping in the car during the winter months and heading down to Cheshire to get the winter miles in. This is a great warm up event for any riders doing the Cheshire Cat a couple of weeks later; expect to be able to hold a fast pace and keep it going.
Three distances to choose from: 30, 50 and 80 mile routes. |

If you are still looking for something to train for and to really make 2010 a special cycling year, then the ‘Rapha Cent Cols Challenge’ could be the answer. It's the ultimate sportive; a ten stage event aimed at the serious amateur cyclist. You can also opt to ‘just’ ride either stages 1-5, or stages 5-10. Most stages cover 200km and climbing varies from 4,000-5,000 metres. You will ride the famous Classic Climbs such as the Tourmalet and the Aubisque, but you will also discover many little known pearls of the Pyrenees. |

When the batch of Le Col clothing first hit the Cyclosport.org desk, I wasn’t sure what to expect. I’d heard of Le Col, but only because I’ve had my ear to the ground. It’s a relatively small set up, headed up by former professional cyclist Yanto Barker, but Le Col has the style and quality to mount a challenge to the big players, writes Adam Tranter. |

For many cyclists, coffee is a religion. It seems logical then, for Paris-Roubaix winner Magnus Backstedt, to set up his own coffee brand to help fund the development of young cyclists. It’s a smooth taste with a relatively forceful kick, I opted for the ground espresso option which is an ideal wake up, and has sent me out the door invigorated before a few training rides. |

All 4,500 entries for the 2010 Etape Caledonia have sold out. The popular event is the only UK sportive with fully closed roads and raises money for Macmillan Cancer Support. Entries were £56 each, suggesting that Macmillan will have benefitted hugely already, even without individual rider sponsorship. The event covers 81 miles in Highland Perthshire and will take place on the 16th May 2010. |

The Garmin Edge 705 is a piece of equipment that hardly needs an introduction. It’s been securely fastened to the handlebars of professional cyclists, fitness enthusiasts, adventure-seekers and of course, sportive riders for a while now. But unlike lots of products in cycling, it’s something that hardly existed a decade ago, explains Adam Tranter. |

Hello and welcome to Cyclosport.org, I'm Russell Downing. I started cycling probably before I could even walk, but I do remember winning my first race when I was only seven in Middlesbrough, and I've tried to keep it going ever since. As you've probably heard, I've signed for Team Sky which is obviously my best achievement to date, it's a dream come true for me after so many years of racing all over the world.
I finally get the chance to show what I can do in a professional set up. Team Sky has high expectations and wants to be the best sports team ever and I'm proud to be part of that.

Stars of Gone in 60 Seconds, Nicholas Cage or Angelina Jolie probably weren't amongst the thousands who logged onto the Verenti Dragon Ride website at 09.00 yesterday but if they were, they would have been sorely disappointed as the event sold its extra places in just 420 seconds. |
