Entries are now open for the 2016 Dare 2b Rutland CiCLE Tour and Lincoln Michaelgate Sportive, two of the biggest and best sportives in the Midlands. For those quick off the mark there's a special early-bird deal with a reduction for people entering in a team of four or more...

Taking place on Saturday 23 April 2016, the Dare 2b Rutland CiCLE Tour welcomes over 1,000 riders each year. Sponsored by Dare 2b and with all routes starting at Giant Store Rutland on the picturesque south shore of Rutland Water, the Rutland CiCLE Tour gives participants the choice of four different routes, meaning there's something for riders of all abilities.

The 57 mile route is ideal for those new sportives, but still hard enough to provide a personal challenge. For completely new riders there is now a 21 mile option which is less hilly than the other routes. The toughest challenges come from 104 mile and 78 mile routes, which features the most picturesque lanes and villages the area has to offer.

Taking in not only Rutland but also neighbouring Lincolnshire, Leicestershire and Northamptonshire, the long route has almost 5,000 ft of climbing and includes views of Rutland Water, the Vale of Belvoir, Belvoir Castle, Eyebrook Reservoir and the impressive Harringworth Viaduct. All routes except the shortest have feedstations.

The next day sees the International CiCLE Classic take to the roads of the surrounding area, meaning those who want to make a weekend of it can watch some of the top professional riders in action. Entrants will also be able to take advantage of several offers from sponsors and supporters, Dare 2b and Giant Store Rutland, with the latter also running led rides leading up to the event.

The other jewel in the ITP Events crown is the Lincoln Michaelgate Sportive taking place on Saturday 7 May 2016.

Choose from four routes of 97, 76, 58 or 32 miles, all of which start and finish in Lincoln and travel through the quiet, picturesque lanes of the Lincolnshire Wolds. The route options mean there is something for everyone, with the 97 mile route providing serving up a testing 4,240 ft of ascent.

The 58 mile route takes in less of the Wolds and offers a more manageable challenge for sportive novices, whereas the 30 mile route is almost completely flat and perfectly suited to those new to cycling. Again, all routes except the shortest have feedstations.

Other sportives from ITP Events in 2016 include:

The Louth Sportive Sunday 10th July 2016
Le Petit Grand Prix Sunday 04th September 2016
