Bianchi, proud global sponsor of L'Eroica - the international series of vintages cycling events - will take centre stage this weekend at the grand finale of the L'Eroica season. The flagship event in the series will take place in Chianti, Tuscany from today, Friday 2 - Sunday 4 October. 

As part of the collaboration, Bianchi recently introduced the new "Bianchi-L'Eroica", the vintage road bicycle with lugged steel frame, certified as eligible by the L'Eroica Commission to be ridden in all Eroica events.  

Several Bianchi-L'Eroica owners (from as far and wide as the USA, Australia, New Zealand, Mexico and Brazil) will use their new bikes over Chianti's famous white roads for the first time on Sunday.  

The new Bianchi retro model, entirely designed and produced in Italy, will be officially presented in Gaiole during Saturday's morning press conference.  

Througout the weekend Bianchi will be in the Eroica Expo Area in Gaiole also with a pop-up store dedicated to Bianchi clothing and vintage accessories. 

The Bianchi-L'Eroica

L'Eroica was born as a celebration of road cycling, particularly the history and values of this sport. Therefore, to participate in the events cyclists must adhere to strict vintage dress and bike regulations. 

The Eroica series now includes events in California, Japan, Spain, Britain and two in Italy. 

Speaking about the original event, L'Eroica creator, Giancarlo Brocci said: "Our venture began in 1997 because we love cycling, but the idea has deeper roots. We admire the values of a bygone cycling era, which we want people to learn about." 

Brocci continued: "It's a cycling era that has inspired lots of Italian literature, culture and music and that has also marked some Italian history. We want to spread the roots and values of an extraordinary sport with a popular soul to re-discover the Beauty of Fatigue and the Taste of Adventure."
