Pre-registration for the Mallorca312-Giant-Taiwan 2016 opened at the start of August. It's possible to pre-register for the seventh edition of the event by booking one of the different accommodation packages that the Mallorca312 and Hotel Iberostar Playa de Muro offer to participants.

Places for the 312km event - Spain's longest sportive - are limited to 4,000. Next year's edition will take place on 30th April 2016, and riders will have to conquer 4,300m of climbing during the nearly 200 mile route.

As in previous editions, there will be an alternative route for those not wishing to attempt a full circumnavigation of the island. The Mallorca 167 - Bicycle Holidays Max Hürzeler weighs in at 167 kilometers with 2,600m of climbing in the north of the island.

On both routes cyclists will ride through the Serra de Tramuntana mountain range, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

Unsure which route to take on? No problem. There's only one registration for the event and it's valid for both the Mallorca 312 and Mallorca 167. This means that on the day your legs can make the decision for you at kilometer 90 where the routes split.

Although you can pre-register now, official entries don't open until 1 November 2015.

The minimum age for participants is 18. Cyclists aged 16 to 18 are allowed to participate with written parental consent.

Cyclosport's Nick Gregory completed the Mallorca 312 in 2014. Read his review HERE.
