On Sunday 15 May, the Chiltern 100 - one of the UK's most impressive and exhilarating sportives - will be back to challenge riders to a taxing tour of the beautiful Chiltern countryside.

Riders wanting to take on the challenge in 2016 can take advantage of early bird prices which are available until the 31 January.

Originally founded by local club, Verulam CC, the Chiltern 100 prides itself on being 'the toughest sportive close to the capital'. The event, now run by Human Race, is still delivered in partnership with the club, and many members are expected to be taking part.

The Chiltern 100 includes a fully stocked event village, free parking, ample motorcycle marshals and frequent feed stations.

Nick Rusling, CEO of Human Race Events, said: "Taking on 21 hills is a big ask, but we are sure thousands of riders will once again be up to the challenge. We are delighted to be working alongside VCC, the club who started this esteemed event, to bring the Chiltern 100 back for a ninth year."

Both the 76 mile and 110 mile routes will test riders as they take on some of the toughest climbs Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Hertfordshire have to offer. Unparalleled views will reward riders who make it to the top of infamous climbs such as Whiteleaf Hill and Wardrobes.

The event is part of the Human Race Sportive Series which also includes the London Cycle Sportive, Dragon Ride, Lionheart and L'Etape London, with multi-event packages available for those who want to do several events throughout the year.

Places for the Chiltern 100 are available on a first come, first served basis at http://humanrace.co.uk/cycling.
