Tickets Now on Sale: Dare 2b Yorkshire Festival of Cycling 2014

by Nick Gregory

Tickets have now been released for the Dare 2b Yorkshire Festival of Cycling, which will be hosted at Harewood House during the Tour de France Grand Depart 2014.

Tickets can now be purchased online for the 3-day festival, which is taking place from 4th-6th July 2014. Cycling fans will have the opportunity to see the Tour de France first-hand on Saturday 5th July as it passes through Harewood's historic grounds en route from Leeds to Harrogate.

The festival will offer camping and glamping so that visitors can enjoy the Tour experience all weekend and view Yorkshire's second stage on big screens as the race travels to Sheffield. Visitors to the Festival will be able to join led rides to follow the second stage, which also passes nearby. Throughout the long weekend a large Expo will be showcasing major and emerging cycling and outdoor brands, as well as entertainment taking place on a central stage.

Festival-goers will also have the unique opportunity to follow in the tracks of the Tour riders by getting involved in the various rides, which will be available throughout the weekend. These will include cycling sportives for all abilities, time-trials, women-only rides, family rides, trail runs, duathlons, and more.

The ticket release comes as anticipation for the Festival has reached new heights in recent weeks. The official 2014 Tour de France route, including full details of the Grand Depart in Yorkshire, was announced last month in Paris, and Harewood House received a celebratory visit from Welcome to Yorkshire as it visited key points along the route.

Christopher Newton, Director of Harewood Events Ltd, organisers of the Dare 2b Yorkshire Festival of Cycling, said: "It's been great to watch the public excitement for the Festival growing over the last few months since we announced it would be at Harewood, so we're very pleased that we can now release the hotly anticipated tickets to the public."

He continued:  "We very much look forward to welcoming our visitors in July, and to putting on a brilliant cycling spectacle for everyone."

Tickets start from £18, with a range of tailored packages available for camping and participation activities. A 10x10m standard 3-night weekend camping pitch for up to 8 people costs £145.00.
