Human Race, the UK's most diverse sports events company, is celebrating the staggering fundraising efforts of its participants. Over the month of June participants raised over £250,000 for a number of charities.
One of Human Race's busiest months, June saw flagship events the Wiggle Dragon Ride, Financial Times London Cycle and the Cycletta series bring in valuable funds for Prostate Cancer UK, Access Sport and Macmillan Cancer Support. Combined, these events raised over £250,000 during June however with many more pledges to be received the overall total is expected to exceed £300,000.
Participants have raised vital funds for numerous charities
The Wiggle Dragon Ride, the UK's most prestigious sportive which is held in south Wales and was celebrating its 10th anniversary, raised £160,700, with £77,000 (expected to rise to £110,000) being raised for the official charity, Prostate Cancer UK, who work tirelessly to provide better services and treatments for men who suffer from prostate cancer.
Cycletta, the UK's leading series of women-only bike rides which is supported by Victoria Pendleton, saw over a thousand cyclists take part in Cycletta Bedfordshire and the Cycletta route at the Wiggle Dragon Ride. Over £22,500 was raised for various charities through JustGiving and an additional £19,000 was raised for official charity partner Macmillan Cancer Support, although this figure is expected to rise to over £30,000. One in three people will get cancer and Macmillan Cancer Support provide practical, medical and financial support and push for better cancer care.

Human Race's final event of June saw thousands of cyclists take to the streets in London for the Financial Times London Cycle Sportive, raising close to £40,000, including an estimated £30,000 for Access Sport, who look to harness the proven power of sport to tackle social exclusion, inactivity and obesity in areas where help is most needed.
Human Race is extremely proud of the important funds that participants have raised so far this summer and look forward to welcoming many more cyclists who are raising money for a wide range of charities at forthcoming events. Human Race's next cycling event is the Wiggle Etape Cymru, the UK's toughest closed-road sportive.
