Kilo To Go: Going the Extra Mile in 2014

by Nick Gregory

Kilo To Go always go an extra mile or two when organising a sportive. For starters, they provide participants with a comprehensive rider pack in advance, as well as quick and simple online registration - after all, the rides themselves are challenging enough.

This means that on the day of the event everything is on hand just to turn up at the start line and go. There's no need to stand in a registration queue to get a rider number and timing chip.

Looking for some of the UK's finest climbs? Kilo To Go events have been designed by a former pro cyclist to take in some of Britain's most iconic cycling climbs, several exclusively on closed roads for the very first time. For the first time ever, sportive riders are offered a closed road ascent at Winnats Pass on Wiggle Tour Of The Peak event, with another at the famous Mow Cop Killer Mile on Wiggle Cheshire Cat. It's a given that Kilo To Go's sportive routes incorporate countless other epic climbs too, including Gun Hill, Holme Moss, Cat and Fiddle, The Long Mynd, Kerry Hill and more Cornish Tors than you can shake a bike pump at.

Here are some other ways that Kilo To Go will go that extra mile to make sure riders have a great day:

All Kilo To Go finishers receive the following, no matter when they sign up: A HIGH5 taster pack, a pro-quality 750ml water bottle, a useful drawstring goodie bag, a finisher's medal, a certificate, and a short video of the moment every rider crosses the finish line, and more....

All events feature: class leading UHF electronic timing, event photography from one of professional cycling's best known photographers, well stocked feed stations and mechanical support. Toilets are available at all Kilo To Go HQs and feed stations for rider comfort.

Medical Safety: Out on the route motorcycle outriders and paramedics provide backup for rider safety. Add to that highly visible broom wagons that'll collect any riders who require repatriating back to the HQ.

Great signage: Highly visible magenta signs direct riders around the course and clearly marked route split points so that riders always end up on their chosen route. Regular sportive participants always remark that Kilo To Go route signage is the best in the business.
