General entries for Marie Curie Cancer Care Etape Caledonia 2015 sold out in less than three days as thousands of cycling enthusiasts secured a place at the start line of the UK's premier closed road sportive. Prospective participants can still secure a place as a limited amount of Charity Pledge Places are available to raise vital funds for the official charity partner, Marie Curie Cancer Care.

This unique cycling event takes place on Sunday 10th May 2015 in Perthshire, Scotland, and offers 5,000 participants the opportunity to ride on completely closed roads in one of the most breath-taking locations the UK has to offer. In 2014 £353,908 was raised by Etape Caledonia participants for Marie Curie Cancer Care and in 2015 they hope to raise over £380,000. The money will help nurses care for more terminally ill people.

2014 participant and fundraiser, Daniel Sheard took part in Etape Caledonia said: "For many of the participants the Etape Caledonia is a sporting event, for me it was about celebrating the memory of my dad. The best advice I got before the event was:  'Don't forget to look left and right - you're cycling through one of the most beautiful landscapes in the world'. But even more inspirational than that was the supporters, I'm not ashamed to say I was moved to tears more than once."

James Robinson, Managing Director of IMG Challenger World, the event organisers, said: "The Etape Caledonia is a unique occasion giving participants an exclusive experience and opportunity to cycle 81 miles on completely closed roads. The event has grown in popularity year by year and we are looking forward to welcoming participants back to another great year."

General entries sold out in just three days, but a limited number of Charity Pledge Places are still available via Official Charity Partner, Marie Curie Cancer Care. Participants should visit to book their entries now to be part of the UK's leading closed road sportive.
