The Herefordshire Devil Cometh - 131 miles of Hell

by Nick Gregory

11th May sees the return of the Herefordshire Devil to Leominster with a selection of route options and difficulty levels suitable for most abilities.

The Herefordshire Devil starts at the Leominster Sports Village and Cafe, and offers 56, 83 or whopping 131-mile route options.

The routes all head west into Wales and offer scenic rides on quiet and smooth roads. Depending on your route choice, your ride will take in the climbs of Stapleton Hill, Banc Gordwwr, Cwm-Hir, Elan Valley and Glascwm.

As with all of Red Kite's Devil events, you will need to bring your climbing legs. The routes feature 1,330m (43-mile), 2,100m (83-mile) and 4398m (131-mile) of elevation respectively.

The ride is non-competitive but timed (using a professional timing chip based system) and features feedstations en route stocked with home made flapjacks, Welsh cakes and savoury options courtesy of The Drover's Rest restaurant and sports nutrition products from High 5.

Registration is £25 for all distances.
