GFNY Mont Ventoux kicks off next year's GFNY World season on June 28, 2015 with a remarkable experience in one of France's top destinations, Provence. The GFNY World Season will culminate in New York on May 16, 2016.

GFNY Mont Ventoux will be staged in Vaison-la-Romaine and finishes atop Mont Ventoux, arguably the world's most iconic cycling mountain where many Tour de France stages have been held, and legends born.

The long route is 87miles / 140km and has 11,500ft / 3500m of climbing. The shorter of the two routes is 71miles / 115km long and has 9,800ft / 3,000m of climbing. Both routes travel over several cols and finish on the 6,237ft / 1,912m-high Mont Ventoux - 'The Giant of Provence'. From here, riders enjoy a relaxed descent back to Vaison-la-Romaine to take part in the post-event festivities.

Between now and next June the current GFNY series will visit Italy this coming weekend, Mexico in November, Puerto Rico in February and both Spain and Columbia in March.

At 6273ft, Mont Ventoux stands tall overlooking the vineyards and olive groves of Provence; a landscape of incredible diversity that will be fully explored on the GFNY Mont Ventoux. It features typical Provencal stone villages with centuries-old squares and fountains that attest to the outstanding artistic and historical heritage of the countryside surrounding the foot of Mont Ventoux.

Vaison La Romaine is perhaps the best example of this; the medieval town, situated six miles from the Ventoux is internationally renowned for its Roman ruins. The town combines the romanticism of the centuries past with inhabitants who are some of the friendliest people you'll ever meet, keen to share the culture and traditions of their town.

As well as taking on the GFNY Mont Ventoux, there will be time to explore the weekly provencal markets, filled with up to 450 exhibitors  of arts and crafts, local goods, food stalls of all kinds, market garden produce, bazaars and textiles.

Registration for the event opens via the website on October 15; and Hotels, B&Bs and luxury Provencal houses can also soon be booked on
