There's something for everyone at the Louth Meridian Sportive, part of the cultural SO Festival. As well as the usual sportive distances and features, there will also be a range of shorter distances for new or younger riders, some of which will have ride leaders.

If you are the sort of rider who likes big miles and a whole day out, why not include the rest of the family on Saturday 28 June; not only can you and your family ride the event, but two other non-cyclists will be given free passes for the Meridian Leisure Centre.

Starting in the picturesque town of Louth, at the new Meridian Leisure Centre, the routes take in some of the UK's quietest roads on the eastern side of the Lincolnshire Wolds. There are two distances for sportive riders, 85 and 51 miles, both costing £27.

The routes will have fully-stocked feedstations, with two on the 85 mile route and one on the 51 mile route. Food after the event is also included in the entry fee.

After the event there will be free massages at Meridian and free health checks courtesy of the team from East Lindsey District Council. There will also be a post event village where a cycle stunt team will be performing and local sports and activity businesses will have stalls. Breeze and SkyRide Local will also be on hand to give those new to cycling advice on where to go next with the sport.

Covering almost a complete circuit of Leicestershire, the Hope Against Cancer Leicestershire SuperTour takes place on Sunday 20 July. The routes have been designed with all types of riders in mind, from beginners to experienced sportive veterans.

The routes are hilly in places, but rolling others, so you will get the chance to ride at a good average speed in a group with friends or new acquaintances you'll make on the road. The Leicestershire SuperTour is a sportive which takes advantage of the varied nature of the county's terrain, combining the tough hills of the Charnwood forest with rolling and flat sections that nudge up the average.

There's also an optional 5km run at the end of each ride distance!

The run route is through the University campus on almost traffic free lanes. A map can be found on the route link below. There are three ride options: 116 miles, 90 miles and 68 miles, all of which can be done with the 5km run. There are three feed stations on the long route, two on the medium and one on the short route. Ride only is £27, and ride with run is £30.

The event helps raise money for Hope Against Cancer. This is a Leicestershire & Rutland based cancer research charity, raising money for research in the Hospitals and Universities of Leicester including DMU & Loughborough.
