The weekend will offer two routes heading south into England on Saturday (45 or 90 miles) and two heading north in Scotland on Sunday (50 or 75 miles). Choose either route on either day, or just one day riding and the other day exploring some of the many other activities the area has to offer.

All of the routes start in the village of Newcastleton, nestled in the land of Reivers and Romans and the routes on offer provide the perfect opportunity to explore this wild and often overlooked area of mainland Britain.

Enjoy the quiet twisting lanes, open Roman roads, challenging climbs and seemingly never-ending descents whilst taking in the magnificent scenery of Eskdalemuir and Kielder Reservoir with maybe the odd glimpse of Hadrian's Wall - few sportives can boast such a varied and interesting journey through two millennia of Britain's chequered history.

The weekend marks the start of the new Newcastleton Cycling Festival, a week of cycling events based around Newcastleton including a hill climb TT on Tuesday evening and off-road events using the local 7Stanes mountain bike trails.
