In fact, for my 1st sportive of the year, on a gently rolling course, it was nice that views took my breath away rather than the hills. That said, the final climb was pretty brutal, especially as it was in the last 2KMs and I'd come whizzing down it at the start.

Highlights: Plenty of clear signage to mark the route, massage at the end in a really good ride HQ (the visitor's centre at the steam museum) & the free to download photos. Plus I saw a huge peacock!

Lowlights: A marshal at the route split would have been useful, especially as the split happened as you turned onto a main road. There were a couple of places where there was gravel on the exit of blind corners (fix: add a couple of caution signs).

That's about it. The lowlights might sound a bit picky but UKCyclingEvents do such a consistently good job on their events I have started to expect perfection.
