Rapha Condor Blackpool Sportive

Blackpool being a cycling town has recently hosted numerous cycling events such as the Tour of Britain, The Tour Series, Blackpool Grand Prix and the Blackpool Nocturne.

It only therefore seems right to host a Sportive to start and finish in Blackpool which are fast becoming the most popular events for amateur cyclists all over the world.

Enter the Sportive before the 1st July to be entered into a prize draw.

Prizes include:

1st prize: Rapha Condor Team Issue Kit. Jersey, Bib Shorts and Cap.

2nd prize: Rapha Condor Team Issue Fi'zi:k Saddle.

3rd Prize: Rapha Condor Team Edition Giro Sunglasses.

4th Prize: Polar CS400 Cycling Computer and Heart Rate Monitor.

Sign on is available from 6.00pm the evening before the event at the West Vale Villa, 54 Reads Avenue, Blackpool.
Sign on at the HQ is from 7.00am at Solaris Centre, New South Promenade.
First riders off at 9.00am.

Starting for the second year from the Solaris Centre riders will head along the prom south towards Lytham St Annes and then turn north and head toward Kirkham and then around the north side of Preston.

At Longridge there will be a split where riders opting for the short route turn left toward Inglewhite and can then decide if they want to ride the short optional climb around Beacon Fell which hosts a visitors centre. After which they will head toward the return back through Broughton.

Riders opting for the long route will continue on towards Bowland Forrest Low. They will have their first feed station just after Dunsop Bridge and then continue on toward Calder Fell for some more serious climbing in a clockwise direction.

Riders will then head back toward Claughton before linking up with the short route riders at Inglewhite.

The return back passes through Broughton, Inskip, Elswick and Wrea Green following along some of Lancahsire beautiful cycle networks.

There will be 1 feed station for the short route and 2 feed stations for the long route, food and drink will be provided.

Weather permitting the Solaris Centre will provide a BBQ for riders at the finish for them to purchase.

The event will take place to coincide with the Rapha Condor Blackpool Nocturne which is being held in the evening of the same day.

With an abundance of accommodation it is ideal for people wanting to make a weekend of a Sportive ride and then to watch a top professional circuit race.
