My first ever sportive and I can't imagine others being better either in management or value. Course was spot on - good to have a tough ending to give that feeling of achievement. Feed stations well situated, well spaced and well stocked (especially the cheese wraps just in time for lunch) apart from when we came to the last feed on the 160k course there were no bananas and no gel's - just when we needed them most. I understand there were left over bananas so this was a shame. Lasagne was very welcome also. Very good supply of energy drink which I'm sure got me round and glad there were toilets at most/every food stop. Very impressed - I have/will recommend this to others and do it again myself. This is how it should be done!

My first Sportive, only the short one but will be back for the 100 in the Autumn and hopefully many more in between. A great day out and any pre-ride nerves were wiped away by the superb organisation and experience from the moment we arrived. See you soon!!!

The third TONF that I have ridden and it's one of the best out there by far. Even allowing for the fact that not everyone has access to such great facilities ( and they are exceptional ) this still rates highly above some of the others I have ridden. Plenty of parking, well organised sign-in and start, extensive and clear signage and all for a good price. As has already been commented upon there are some organisers of similar events that could learn a thing or two from this one. It's almost worth doing for the lasagne alone!
Well done to all the organisers and volunteers, your work is appreciated and I am looking forward to the next one already ( yeah, even the hills at the end! )

As only my second sportive, I thought this was excellent, brilliant signage and an enjoyable route. The weather conditions were also great. The feed stations were plentiful and offered a plethora of sweet options. The route was varied and was on reasonable maintained roads.
All in all a great ride and good practice for my London to Paris in one day.

My second time after Autumn 2013. Facilities at Loughborough University are excellent, feed stations well stocked with great food (especially the cheese and onion wraps), well marked route and great after event meal. Friendly and informed marshals make the whole event so much better than others I have completed. Rutland CiCLE take note!
Already signed up for Autumn 2014.

Third time I have ridden this event, having done both the spring and autumn events last year. Once again it was well organised, with excellent signage, friendly staff and great food stops. The meal at the end was lovely and very welcome. Only comments would be that I agree about some basic tools at the feed stops. I had a squeaky cleat all the way round which only needed a squirt of WD40 but no one had any. Also the flyer given out at the end with the details of timings and feedback had the wrong web addresses on. Otherwise an enjoyable, but hard ride. I have ridden many sportives over the last few years and several of them could learn a thing or two from the organisers of the ToNF.

After doing this ride last year, I entered again with that lasagna dangling in front of me like a carrot in front of a donkey, and a donkeys speed it was! Excellent value sportive, couldn't ask for more. If I was going to say anything negative it would be that there was too much dry cake foods at the feed stops, and when your mouth is dry it takes a gallon of water to get them down. But the wraps are great.

To compare another sportive I do regularly in the Cotswolds (similar price); 78 miles and 1 feed station, which is about 40 miles in, no post ride meal either. This one there are 2 feed stops on the 63 mile route and 4 on the 100 mile route, plus of course the post ride meal - value is much better

The day was great, no pressure to go fast making it a good event to attend if this was your first sportive.
Thank you to all involved including whoever made the Lasagne!

Great ride and very well organised. Signs were perfect, organisation very smooth. Nice countryside route - bumpy rather than too hilly, perfect for the first 100 mile of the year.

Very well organised event, really good route. Great atmosphere about the whole event, plenty of support about. Feed stations were some of the best, a proper meal afterwards is a bonus, really great value for money. I'll definitely be back!

Fantastic challenging hills. Will recommend it. Great route, v well signed. Only things that could be improved next time are;
A. Stock more jels.
B. Ensure at least some gels are caffeine free please!

Brilliant event, superbly organised, excellent volunteers, post -ride food great too. Only minor quibble was the feed stations ran out of gels. My friend struggled on the day and we were very slow, so I do appreciate it was our slow progress that was an issue. That said, we reached Newtown Linford at the same time as many doing 100 mile's, so they may have been more concerned. Cakes, bananas and drinks made up for it. Thoroughly enjoyable and will be back!

I live in Loughborough and ride these lanes regularly but great to enter my local sportive. Everything first class; organisation, signage, route, helpers, feed stations etc etc.. We entered as a group of three and will be signing up for the October event as soon as possible, can't wait. Congratulations to all.

Very good, well set up event. Easy to enter through the BC website, no paperwork to forget. There is the option of a gpx download if you want, but it's so well signed that I was never at risk of losing my way even though I don't know most of the area and didn't look at the route before. Feed stations every 20 miles or so, the signing on a start were very hassle free too. All in all a great day. If you like hills!

A very enjoyable day, the TONF ticks all the boxes when it comes to a well organised event with an enjoyable (160k) route. Well done and thank you to all involved in putting on this event.

Fabulous event.. second time completing!... 30 mins quicker this year though!.. Bronze .. woohoo! The only minor thing I would say would be that the website isn't easy to find the results. The feed stops were great and the right distance for me... some did comment that they would have liked some Hi-5 gels available.
