Even though we only did the 40 miler, the lack of marshals , nil warning signage for sketchy road surfaces and weird locations for a very early food stop and too late water stop must be balanced against the good route once we were outside the City,fine weather and the opportunity to ride alongside the Hugh Porter!

The feed stations needed advance warning. Most rider flew past the first feed station on the 75 mile route.
Also I needed a first aider at the second feed station and there wasn't one present, so had to wait till I finished, to be seen to. Other than this I loved the day, I've already got it in my diary for next year.

i entered 3 months prior to the event and felt a little cheated. The initial advertising stated that a number of uk pros would be riding with the different waves..... That changed once Cav signed up. No other pros were there.

For the ₤35 I didn't think the level of food at the stops was good enough, to have to pay for hot drinks and food not what I expected for such a level of entry fee. I didn't need any energy drinks from the feed zones but I didn't see any - may have been me, feed zones were well located and great staff.
Free massages were excellent and gratefully received.
Cav handing out medals was a brilliant gesture and it was good to see him mixing with those of us who had struggled our way round the route.
Once the legs stopped hurting I really enjoyed the day - looking forward to next year

Very few marshals out on course, which wasn't too much of a problem...There were just a couple of places where a marshal would probably have been a good idea.

Food stations were adequate, but not exceptional - additional food was available at several though.

Minor gripe though, overall good ride and Cav on the start line at 7:30 in 7 degrees...good man!
