A relatively low-key event, but all the better for it. The main criticism this year was lack of energy drink and savoury snacks at the second feed. But the tea at the first feed and hot meal at the end made up for it. The start/finish timing mat needed better signposting.

A classic event - tremendous course with inspiring landscape and long hard hills. Good food on route - quality. Was kept going by the thought of the expected/usual hot food at the end - so was disappointed by the ham bap and sausage roll. Getting a time immediately available at the end good, would like to see the return of the halfway timing mat in the Elan valley. Have to say crossing the finish line exhausted and being immediately presented with the empty gift bidon wasn't great - I had no where to put it. Motorcycle outriders are reassuring - I punctured and one stopped to make sure I was OK. Marshals at junctions again very reassuring and signage really good - I haven't given this 10 out of 10 because there was one sign, towards the end, which wasn't well placed and I missed it and so did others - half-way down a hill.
Friendly event with plenty of cyclists chatting (when they could) and it's tough - I've done it 3 times now and will do it again - and you need every bit of help you can to get around! I think its the marshals, the outriders and the signs which really make this event. Thank you for a great event - I will be back - but please put on some hot food at the end!

Awesome - still after all these years. The difficulty score of 7 is just plain wrong - this is a tough event with some murderous gradients in the 2nd half. Nice, quiet roads, beautiful countryside and this year fantastic weather.

It's one of those events that despite the extreme pain you suffer you keep coming back.

I keep coming back this event - rain or shine. I simply love the route. It is not an easy sportive and I can't help feeling that the 7 scoring undersells it a bit. Thank you to everyone involved in the organisation. I will hopefully be back for my 4th time next year.

A very hard event and my first 150K+ sportive, would definitely do it again but will be aiming to be 10% fitter than I was this year to improve on my time.

Excellent - best Sportive I've done, organisation was slick and the route was stunning - I loved it although my mate found it a bit too tough for him so only sign up if you like a lot of climbing and do have a good level of fitness! Try and get a good low gear on the bike as well. I rode it on a 34-29 without too many problems but I would have struggled on my summer bike's 34-23.

It is a shame the pair behind this year's event are not doing it again next year, I hope it will be just as good as I plan to sign up for it as soon as entries open!

Well organised as it was last year. I hope it's not the last. One minor gripe is that the 1/2 way timing mat didn't record me so I am shown as completing the short course. That's a bit annoting as I took an hour and 15 mins off my time for last year and should be well within silver standard!

This was my first major sportive and the longest, hardest ride I've ever done, and yet can't wait for the next one. This has been a great event with an excellent route, well done to all those involved and thank you.

Excellent route through really stunning scenery, some tough challenging climbs including a nasty sting in the tail in the last few miles. As with the spring challenge the Epic team know how to organise these events - makes a massive difference to have such support when you're putting that much effort into the race. Food stops were great and well stocked and hot food at the end was a bonus. Hope someone takes this one on for next year as I would definitely be back. Big thanks to Phil and Anna
