This was my first bike ride for over 20 years I had trained for 10 weeks before this ride so i found it very hard but had great support from other cyclists.

i didnt see a single marshall on the entire 100 mile route. Some dangerous junctions had no warning signs (fast decent to main roads).
the feed stations were poorly spaced and were terrible... no energy drinks, just water and cordial, they looked really amateur.

i entered 3 months prior to the event and felt a little cheated. The initial advertising stated that a number of uk pros would be riding with the different waves..... That changed once Cav signed up. No other pros were there.

Very very poor food stops
No Marshals
Signage not brilliant
The first 5 miles were awful, traffic lights after trafffic lights.
Check out Wiggle or Evans sportives to see how this should have be run.

Thought the signage could have been better, and there were a few points that could have done with a marshal or two! (Steep descents with right hand corners off them)

Awesome day out which I managed to do without walking up any hills. Hopefully do it a bit quicker next year.

For the ₤35 I didn't think the level of food at the stops was good enough, to have to pay for hot drinks and food not what I expected for such a level of entry fee. The route was great, the organisation top notch, but the overall satisfaction with this event (which I had travelled from Germany for) was poor.

Pre event communication was pretty scarce. Food stops were poor, particularly the (un)availability of energy drinks. I was expecting a little more for my £35 and previous editions of the Tour Ride have been better.

Parking was excellent but if more people had attended I think you would have run out.
I didn't need any energy drinks from the feed zones but I didn't see any - may have been me, feed zones were well located and great staff.
Free massages were excellent and gratefully received.
Cav handing out medals was a brilliant gesture and it was good to see him mixing with those of us who had struggled our way round the route.
Once the legs stopped hurting I really enjoyed the day - looking forward to next year

Well organised event - tough course, much tougher then it looked on paper!

Very few marshals out on course, which wasn't too much of a problem...There were just a couple of places where a marshal would probably have been a good idea.

Food stations were adequate, but not exceptional - additional food was available at several though.

Minor gripe though, overall good ride and Cav on the start line at 7:30 in 7 degrees...good man!
