Will come next year - just make sure coffee man stays to bitter end! Other comments sent to organisers after their first event & received well.

There is a lot of potential here but also quite a bit of work to do. Plus points were clear signage, good marshalling at hazardous junctions, secure and easy car parking at Guide Dogs HQ and very friendly welcome from their volunteers.

'Feed' stations were very poor - just gels available at the first two and the third had packed up when I and several others arrived, admittedly we started later than most. Got top ups of water only and had to stop to buy a sandwich. Looking forward to a bacon roll at the finish but the hot food stand had also packed up!

The route had some nice scenic sections but didn't maximise the local potential of (e.g.) the nice downland descent into Lambourn or the 'Boxford Alps'. A couple of long flat sections on fast-traffic B roads got the average speed up but weren't particularly pleasant. Only about 900m of climbing on a 125 km course.

Timing chips attached to shoes a pain on a wet day when wearing tight fitting overshoes and there was was a bit of cursing in the car park as people tried to get them on.

Finally it would be nice if the organiser were a bit clearer on the website about what (if anything) of the £27 fee is actually going to the charity.

Great setting, great course, great signage, great organisation. I understand what the first reviewer is saying about the feed stops but we were given very clear information beforehand that said exactly what would be at the stops and I didn't experience any problems. Despite the weather marshalls were very friendly and created a good vibe. Out of the 4 sportives I've done this was by far the best.

Well organised, mostly rural quiet roads, a few hills but nothing too serious, would recommend it.

Very well organised, feed stations were not the best i have seen but fine for a splash and dash. Timing seems a little out, my friend and i rode together and both of our Strava times were pretty much identical at 3 hours and 30 minutes yet the timing page has put us both at 4 hours and 30 minutes?

Really well organised and a great route with superb scenery. Very well signposted. Would definitely recommend this.

Some people had issues fastening the timing chips to their shoes as they didn't have any suitable attachments - so maybe an alternative could be provided ?

The only negative would be the feed station 1/2 way round the fun route,
not sure choosing a potholed gravel layby is the best choice considering it's a road cycling event.
Some hot drinks / bananas etc would have been handy as well.

However the lady staffing it was very friendly

This event was let down badly by the fact there was no food at the food stations! Food stations were run by a sports nutrition provider who offered a choice of "gel or bar" at each one (strictly one per rider) - both of which were pretty disgusting - and despite low attendance at the event they soon ran out of bars. My day was spoilt by lack of food and the gel making me sick.
