My third Mad March Hare and it's still a great event and it still doesn't cost much!

Blog entry here: http://www.thecyclingmayor.com/?p=1714

(I'd rate it higher, but it doesn't have a Sag wagon or outriders, or electronic timing, but it doesn't need those things!)

Considerably harder than last year but still a fab event - especially for the mad entry fee! I wish more cost this much and were this good :)

Kinda missed the village hall from last year - when it was nice to have proper loos and somewhere to sit down inside afterwards. Oh, and definitely missed being clapped in by the bunny costume :)

Only real improvement I'd make though is to have more signage at junctions, and also reminders for when you're on those long stretches on your own and haven't seen a cyclist or sign for ages...

Really good event - may well do it yet again next year :)

Fantastic event, beautiful, challenging route and outstanding value for money. Yes it was cold and sunny but I found it a brilliant season opener :-)

Top early season event, well organised with everything a rider wants/needs including a bacon sarnie. All for a tenner and i can ride there/back. Brilliant.

A simply superb and must do sportive.
Excellent scenic route with a good mix of speedy flats and grinding bumps. The last 30 mile in particularly were the most energy sapping rolling hills I've ever ridden and I live in the pennines.
The whole ride was visually stunning through glorious thatch cottage strewn hamlets and villages.

The HQ is perfect. Plus the organiser has kept numbers low in line with what he can provide parking wise etc... giving this sportive one of the best, cheeriest and welcoming vibes I've ever had at a sportive.
If you only ride one sportive all year in Britain then this should be the one you do!

First sportive ever and what a great one to kick start the year, found the last few miles hard going, tired legs and more than a few hills to finish off with. Weather was chilly but bright blue skies all day. Will definitely be back next year. Well done to the event organisers, excellent value for money

Brilliantly friendly event. Interesting and scenic course if not too demanding. Only question is the placing of the only feedstop at 30K into a 107K ride.

Fab event! Just luverly all 'round - great folk, nice route.
Marks seems low...but it didn't need feed stops, or outriders, so how can i mark 'em?
Proper recommended - and I'd do it again without hesitation :)

Great early season leg strecher. Fast route which had me blowing around 50 miles but managed to limp home in the end. Really enjoyed it. Bargin at twice the price!

This event ticked all the boxes for me. Great atmosphere, very nice route and the bacon butty at the end hit the spot. Naughty but nice :-) I'll be back for the 2010 version ;-)

Great early season event. Course hard enough without being a killer, organisation absolutely top notch and the organiser spends the whole day in a silly costume. All for £8, amazing. Other events should take note!
